Last year, our wonderful volunteers not only made sure that North Sea Ultra ran smoothly. During race day, the idea arose among them to end an enjoyable day with a good deed.
Rather than accepting their expense allowance, many volunteers decided to donate it to the Sylt Hospice. We added a little extra, and thanks to this heartfelt gesture from our volunteers, we were able to present a cheque for €200 to the Sylt Hospice Association.
We are delighted that North Sea Ultra is not only a sporting challenge, but also creates a community of kind people who stand together. These are values we want to carry forward.
Would you like to get involved next year? There are many ways to support North Sea Ultra as a volunteer. Whether at an aid station, on the course or behind the scenes, your help is an important part of our event. If you would like to join us, we would be very happy to have your support.
This time, participants also have an opportunity to support a good cause: during registration, there is an option to donate to coastal protection on Sylt. Your donation helps preserve the nature that makes this unique course possible. North Sea Ultra adds one euro for every euro donated by participants.
Together, we are creating more than an unforgettable sporting event. We also want to contribute actively to preserving the island and strengthening our community.
